
Rita Trosclair {Studio}

Rita Trosclair is an award-winning artist who has been teaching art in multiple mediums for 30 years. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections, nationally and internationally. She was designated one of Louisiana’s Living Legends from 1990-1993, and she has been featured in numerous magazine and newspaper articles.
She studied Fine Art at Southeastern Louisiana University, The New Orleans Academy of Fine Art, as well as private studies under John Gaddis, E. Doug Walton, Cathy Gergo, Janet Rogers, Sheila Parsons, Bert Estes and many others.
She has won many awards, including First, Second and Third Place, a Grumbacher Award and a Purchase Award in a Pirate’s Alley Show, awarded by the New Orleans Silversmith Society. Rita’s latest awards were on June 4, 2009 at the St. Bernard Art Guild, judged by Mr. E. John Bullard, Director of The New Orleans Museum of Art. She won best Children’s Themed Award for Indonesian Ibu and Bay (Mother and Baby), Honorable Mention Awards for Indonesian Lunch Lady and Indonesian Pasur (Market).
Rita was co-founding member and past President of St. Bernard Art Guild. She is also a current member of the Mississippi Watercolor Society, The Louisiana Watercolor Society, New Orleans Art Association, St. Tammany Art Association, Ocean Springs Art Association and St. Bernard Art Guild.

1953: Married to Dale Hagadone, and had 6 children.
1968: Co-founded The St. Bernard Art Guild
1968: Attended Chalmette College. (Now Nunez College).
1983: Opened Trosclair 's Gallery and School.
Co-Founded St. Bernard Photography Club.
1984: Majored in Art Education at Southeastern University in Hammond.

1987: New Orleans Academy of Art with Auseklis Ozols.
